Travellers who set up a temporary encampment on playing fields in Hoole have moved on.

Their eight-vehicle strong convoy pitched up on Coronation Recreation Ground, just off Hoole Road, on Thursday night (August 18).

But fewer than 24 hours later and the group has left the site.

A spokesman for Cheshire police confirmed the Travellers had moved on 'of their own accord'.

Another group of Travellers set up camp on Shelley Road in Blacon for four nights last week, staying past a deadline set by a legal notice.

They left the 'unauthorised' encampment , however, as an eviction order was being signed off in court.
