ON-THE-job training has helped eight colleagues at the housing trust gain new business and IT qualifications.
The staff at Chester & District Housing Trust (CDHT) were awarded NVQs after signing up to the in-house training scheme.
Gemma Barnes, Liz Chick, Wendy Garwood, Debbie Griffiths, Gill Hickey, Sue Kelly, Emma Molyneux and Mark Read have all achieved an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration and ITQ (Information Technology Qualification) and are now working towards the NVQ Level 3 qualification.
CDHT is committed to supporting colleagues to enhance literacy and numeracy skills.
To achieve the NVQ colleagues completed coursework and took an exam at CDHT’s Centurion House learning centre, studying in their own time as well as being allocated time to learn during work over the last six months.
Mike Statham, HR learning and development officer for CDHT, added: “We really have developed an excellent centre of learning here at CDHT and these qualifications are part of our ongoing commitment to all colleagues and tenants.
“Our skills pledge provides the opportunity to gain a qualification in the workplace, giving colleagues the qualifications to deliver an excellent service to our tenants and tenants some excellent opportunities to learn and develop.”
