Traffic has now returned to normal following a serious accident involving a car and a cyclist in Chester this evening.
The accident caused long traffic delays on Liverpool Road between the A5116 Liverpool Road/A41 Moston Road in Upton and the A5032 Whitby Lane at Backford .
There had been a large build up of traffic, particularly from Weston Grove in Upton to the Backford dip which left motorists stranded as emergency services dealt with the incident, but traffic and travel website Inrix said Liverpool Road northbound has now reopened and traffic has returned to normal now that the accident has been cleared.
It has still not been confirmed whether or not there have been any injuries following the accident.
