Major traffic delays were reportedly caused by a collision involving a pedestrian in Chester city centre this lunchtime (Wednesday February 5).

Cheshire West and Chester Council tweeted that the incident happened at the Hoole Way/St Oswalds Way roundabout by the Mecca bingo hall in Chester. The council says:  “This is causing major delays, please avoid if possible.”

Cheshire Constabulary said the incident happened about 12.20pm involving a Volkswagen Polo and a pedestrian, who suffered minor injuries.

North West Ambulance Service initially sent a rapid response car which was on scene in five minutes and the ambulance arrived after 24 minutes. A male patient, in his 40s, was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital with a knee injury.
