PUPILS of Tilston Parochial Primary School were paid a visit by an award-winning author.

Harriet Goodwin shared her expertise with children as she talked about her books, The Boy Who Fell Down Exit 43 and Gravenhunger before delivering creative writing workshops to the junior classes. She also found time to sign copies of her books for the children.

Year 5 teacher Jo Callister said the author was ‘inspirational’ and had the children ‘spellbound’ with her enthusiasm for writing.

“Our children were fired up to write their own stories once Harriet had shared her writing secrets with them,” she said.

“The staff and children are all busy reading her books now.”
