A BLACK tie event is being held at Chester Racecourse in aid of Claire House.
Supported by Lord Lieutenant David Briggs and Peter Hawkins from Cheshire Jets, the Jet Set event on October 7 will feature a Manhattan theme.
Peter has worked closely with Claire House in organising the Chester Ball for the last few years, and has brought about this connection via his business contacts.
Lord Lieutenant Briggs is dedicated to support the Cheshire Children’s Hospice and his first commitment will be attending as Claire House’s special guest, speaking as The Queen's representative in Cheshire.
Mr Briggs said: “I was very impressed with all I saw on my first visit to Claire House and in particular I was impressed by the obvious dedication and enthusiasm of all the staff I met during my visit.
“Despite the issues with which Claire House has to deal, it really felt like a place of happiness.
“I look forward to the ball in October and can not think of a charity more deserving of generous support.”
Claire House Children’s Hospice is the local hospice for Cheshire and more than 18% of their children are from the Cheshire area.
It is a bright, vibrant and positive place which provides a home from home environment for babies, children and young adults with life shortening conditions, as well as support for the entire family.
Cheshire area fundraising manager Abi Smith said: “Forging this relationship will prove an exciting venture.
“Lord Lieutenant is a prestigious role and we are lucky to have him onboard and supporting Claire House.”
