Three people have been arrested following a serious assault in Neston.

A 16-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital following an attack which took place on Thursday, September 8.

The teenager is understood to have been 'wounded in his back'.

Police are still continuing their investigation into the attack.

Tannery Lane and Stanney Fields Park was cordoned off yesterday following the attack.

The Chronicle asked police to clarify the nature of the boy's wound but the force was unable to provide any more information.

Ellesmere Port Police tweeted news of the two arrests earlier today, and confirmed a third arrest had been made later.
