THE LORD Mayor of Chester is campaigning against her own council who have approved two Travellers sites in Helsby and Dunham-on-the-Hill.

Permission for a temporary Travellers’ site in Hillcrest, Chester Road, Dunham-on-the-Hill has been slammed by residents from Dunham-on-the-Hill, Hapsford, Alvanley, Helsby and Mickle Trafford.

They fear the proposed site near existing Travellers’ site on Towers Lane, Alvanley, Helsby, opens a “floodgate for future applications”.

Gowy Cllr Eleanor Johnson who is Lord Mayor of Chester and chairman of Cheshire West and Chester Council is to put pressure on CWaC to reverse their controversial decision.
