ABOUT 250 people attended a meeting to discuss a third option for Chester’s new theatre.

People packed the town hall assembly room on Monday to learn about a theatre vision backed by Chester in Concert which would be attached to the rear of the library.

Supporter James Latham, a former Lord Mayor and retired architect, says the council has promised to consider the alternative £25m vision alongside proposals to convert the Odeon or create a theatre on the Little Roodee car park.

Mr Latham, of Sandy Lane, Boughton, said: “To convert the Odeon, a listed building on a corner site, is a recipe for compromise.”
