Discount food retailer Aldi is holding a public exhibition on Thursday to display plans for its third Chester store.

The new store would take the place of the Parkgate Road Mercedes Benz dealership, which is moving to Cheshire Oaks next year.

Aldi has two other stores in Chester, including one nearby Bumpers Lane and the other off Tarvin Road in Boughton.

Residents will have the chance to view and provide feedback on the proposed plans between 2.30pm and 6.30pm on Thursday (September 29) at St Oswald’s and St Thomas of Canterbury Church, Parkgate Road.

An Aldi spokesman said: “We are looking forward to showcasing our plans and hearing what people think about the proposal.

“A new food store in this area would provide local residents with high-quality produce at reduced prices in a convenient location.

“Members of the project team will be at the exhibition and people are more than welcome to come down and discuss the plans with us.

“Once we have listened to people’s feedback, we will finalise our application and submit it to the council in the coming weeks.”

The new store would create up to 40 jobs for local people once it opened, as well as additional employment during construction.
