CHESTER theatre company Theatre in the Quarter is looking for actors, singers and dancers to take part in an exciting large-scale community theatre production next year.

The company has joined forces with The Hammond School to present Unsinkable to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic in 2012.

The musical will be presented at The Hammond School from March 26-31 2012 .

Artistic director Matt Baker said:

“Weaving stories of hope and aspiration, from the initial planning of the White Star Line Company to the simple dream of making a better life for self and family, Unsinkable tells the tales of the days before, during and after the early morning cold calm of April 15, 1912.”

The play, by Richard Wolfenden Brown and Matt Baker, was originally created and performed by Chester-based Jigsaw Music Theatre Company for the Merseyside Maritime Museum in 1997. It has since been performed by youth and community groups around Britain and Germany and was last performed in London by Stagecoach in 2009.

The 2012 production will be directed by Gav Cross , with musical director Matt Baker, designer by Judith Croft, choreographer Katherine Jacob (Hammond), assistant directors Mandy Hatfield (Hammond) and members of Jigsaw Theatre Company team.
