EMERGENCY services were called out to a busy Chester road during rush hour yesterday,(Wednesday August 8) following reports that a man was lying on the ground.

When crews arrived at the roundabout by Morrisons on Liverpool Road at 5.36pm to find the teenager in the middle of the road, it was initially suspected that he had collapsed.

But on closer inspection it was discovered that the man, who was heavily intoxicated and known to officers, was only trying to get a lift home to Ellesmere Port by pretending to have fallen asleep.

The incident caused a build up of traffic, and the teenager later walked away.
