A TEENAGE passenger has been killed after the Mini she was travelling in came off the road in Kelsall.

The accident, which involved no other cars, happened at 9.20pm on Wednesday, March 3.

A 17-year-old girl from Winsford who was a passenger in the car died. The vehicle’s 18-year-old driver, an 18-year-old passenger and another 17-year-old passenger, all females from Northwich, escaped with minor injuries.

Their car left the road as they drove towards Chester on the A54 at Kelsall, near Gresty’s Waste car park, and came to rest in woodland.

Police spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “The vehicle, which was a blue Mini One vehicle being driven by an 18-year-old local woman left the carriageway.

“As a result of the collision a 17-year-old female from Winsford who was a passenger of the vehicle died as a result of her injuries.

“An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old female were both passengers and they received minor injuries.”

Police, who have not yet revealed the identity of the deceased girl, are calling for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Sgt Rachel Gallagher on 01244 613163.
