TATTENHALL residents will be able to sample a range of ales and ciders to discover their favourite tipple at the village’s sixth Beer Festival.
Twenty local beers and ciders will be available at the Barbour Institute during the annual event, which starts tomorrow (Friday) and finishes on Saturday.
The festival – sponsored by Peckforton Castle – will not only provide the finest ales, but also music from award-winning folk band the Jaywalkers, local buskers the Scratch Band and food by Sheila’s Kitchen, including bacon sandwiches and pork pies.
Half of the proceeds from the festival will go to the Park School Association to support their work renovating and replacing play equipment in the school, while the remainder will be given to the Barbour Institute to improve facilities for older people in the community.
Admission will be £6, which includes a festival glass and half a pint of beer. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are available from the Letters Inn, Village Greens, and the Post Office, all in Tattenhall, as well as from the Pied Bull and the Mill Hotel in Chester.
