A teacher from Tarporley High School was selected by the BBC to record the voice-over for its annual School Report initiative.

Tina McMillan who teaches English and Media at the school, recorded the slot in a studio at Media City, having been involved with the national project, which gives students the chance to make their own news reports for real audiences, for the past few years.

The trailer, which is currently still in production, will be broadcast nationally on television, on radio and online later this year.

Tina, who was accompanied to the studio with two of her sixth form students Rhiannon Price and Dan Farrell, said she was ‘delighted’ to be involved in the campaign.

“We were delighted to be asked to be part of such an important campaign for the BBC,” she said. “Whilst it was a daunting experience, it was a fascinating process for our Sixth Formers to be part of.

“It will be strange hearing my voice set to an animation on a national marketing campaign,” she added.

The next BBC School Report news day is set to take place on Thursday March 10 2016, and Tarporley students are looking forward to being involved in once again.
