A STUDENT from Tarporley is depending on the good will of fellow travellers as she hitchhikes 1,200 miles for charity.

Vicky Stoker, 20, of Pearwood Close plans to hitchhike from Liverpool to Morocco with her boyfriend Jon Wright for the charity Link Community Development (LCD).

The pair who are both University of Liverpool students plan to travel from Liverpool to Dover, across France, through Spain and on to Morocco without paying a penny.

They are one group out of a 1,000 who plan to make the trip over a four week period.

Vicky said: “We set off on March 29 and have 12 days to do it in but are hoping to do it in six and a half.

She added: “It is really scary, we are going to have to rely on strangers to help us travel 1,200 miles, but the charity have been doing this challenge for quite a few years and thousands have managed the trip.”

Vicky and Jo plan to camp on their way and as well as raising money for LCD they hope to have some fun on the way.

LCD is a charity which works to improve access to education for children in sub Saharan Africa. To sponsor Vicky and Jon go to www.justgiving.com/vicky-stoker.
