Tarporley High School enjoyed a very successful production of Hairspray, featuring a cast of more than 100 pupils.

Head of drama Ellie Roberts-Williams said: “Welcome to the sixties! Set at a time where segregation was ready to become integration, it is difficult to find a school production more upbeat and life-affirming than Hairspray.

“Hairspray transports the audience into pre-civil rights Baltimore through the eyes of a plus-sized teenager, Tracy Turnblad. The message of the production is that if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, regardless of who we are, our ideas for a better society won’t be heard.”
