Curious members of the public can glimpse what the multi-million pound Barons Quay development in Northwich will look like thanks to a fly-through animation.

The one minute and 56 second-long video takes viewers on a virtual tour inside the retail and leisure quarter, which is currently under construction.

The first phase of the development is anticipated to open at the end of 2016, including new restaurants, shops, public open space to the River Weaver frontage, a five-screen Odeon cinema and parking for 900 vehicles.

'Transformative'

Cllr Brian Clarke, cabinet member for economic development and infrastructure, said: "I'm really pleased that the Northwich public are getting a further opportunity to learn more about the Barons Quay development.

"The fly through animation is a great chance to find out more about just how transformative Northwich town centre will become."

Planning permission was approved for the massive £80m scheme – which will create around 1,600 jobs and forms the core part of the vision to regenerate Northwich – three years ago.

The town's distinctive black and white architecture and its Victorian structures, such as Town Bridge and the Anderton Boat Lift, have inspired the design of Barons Quay.
