MALPAS pupils proved they are a swimming success in the Chester and District galas.

Bishop Heber High School Year nine boys proved that consistency pays of during their gala.

They produced good results all evening to finish top.

School spokesman Sue Griffiths said: “ It was first place for Sam Kitching in the backstroke and second places in freestyle and breaststroke.

“The boys finished no worse than third in the many races. They managed to beat six other teams to pip Christleton High School by two points to become Chester and District Champions for 2010. “

The senior girls also swam consistently well all evening to win the backstroke and butterfly events as well as finishing first in both the freestyle and medley relays.

Mrs Griffiths said: “They had a fantastic final score of 103 points to beat six other teams. The nearest team to them had 78 points.”
