If you’re fed up of the football then why not head to Chester racecourse this weekend for Super Saturday, racing’s most popular raceday of the year.

England may have disappointed in South America but it’s still all to play for on track as horse racing, the country’s second biggest spectator sport, is set to enjoy its best attended paid-for day, with 110,000 people heading to racecourses across the country.

And amongst them is Chester racecourse, which will be one of six tracks nationwide to welcome race fans to the track.

Combining quality racing with picturesque surroundings and a glamorous crowd, the Corbett Sports City Plate Day is one of the most popular day’s racing at the course and the ultimate see and be seen event.

Richard Thomas, chief executive of Chester said, “Super Saturday is the most popular paid for raceday in the UK’s racing calendar, and we’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to the course. There’s always a fantastic atmosphere for this day’s racing; County Stand badges and Tattersall tickets have already sold out but the Dee Stand and Open Course are still available - if you’ve never before, then this is a brilliant opportunity to experience the best of what this great sport has to offer.”

Horse racing is the country’s second biggest spectator sport with nearly six million people attending each year. Last year the second Saturday in July was the most popular paid-for race day in the country with attendances topping 110,000.
