Science students have won top awards in the British Biology Olympiad.

Annabel Calvert, 17, of Kelsall, won gold, Jemimah Beardwood, 17, of Chester, Tom Jameson, 18, of Tattenhall and Felix Morriss, 17, of Chester won silver and Lottie Carr, 18, of Hawarden, won bronze.

All are students at The King’s School in Chester and sat the two-hour challenge paper earlier this year.

A record 5057 students took part in the Olympiad which challenges and stimulates A-Level students and encourages them to expand and extend their talents.
