TALENTED pupils of the Santro School of Dance not only delighted the audience with the variety show staged at Ellesmere Port Civic Hall last April.

They also raised a very healthy £700 from ticket sales.

And they decided to share out the cash between two deserving causes, both of which care for children.

At a presentation in Overpool Community Centre school principal Iris McNair handed over a cheque for £400 to Ellesmere Port Deaf Children's Society and another for £300 to Claire House Children's Hospice.

Iris said: 'We feel it is very good for the children of the school to give to children's causes.'
