Staff at a Chester industrial factory had to be evacuated after their workplace caught fire this afternoon (Thursday).

Two fire engines were called out to the blaze at Calder Group Industrial Materials on Jupiter Drive, just after 4pm.

The fire involved a filtering system on the outside of the building, which required crews to use two hose reels and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the flames.

They then used a hydraulic platform to inspect the filtration system.

The Calder Group specifically focus on the design, manufacture and installation of steel and lead products.
