GENEROUS employees at the Airbus wing-making site in Broughton have teamed up with a children’s cancer charity.

The Airbus Charity Challenge partnership with CLIC Sargent was launched last week and marked the beginning of a programme of employee fundraising and volunteering activities.

Airbus hopes to raise £200,000 for the cause over the next 18 months and a number of events have already been planned.

Helen Turton, corporate account manager for CLIC Sargent, said: “We are delighted to be chosen by Airbus employees as their next charity partner and it is great to hear there are already a host of exciting fundraising activities planned.

“It costs CLIC Sargent around £3,750 to support each child or young person through cancer treatment, so the money Airbus raise will make a real difference to the lives of the thousands of children and young people we support.”Š

Chairman of Airbus in the UK’s Charity Challenge scheme, Phil Jones, said: “The workforce is extremely excited about making a difference to the lives of these youngsters and their families.”

CLIC Sargent provides support for young cancer patients and their families.
