Active youngsters in Chester have been learning new sports skills with the support of Sanctuary Housing.
More than 80 young people aged between seven and 14 have been taking part in sports sessions, including football, volleyball, rugby, rounders and badminton, at Sycamore Fields in Lache.
There have been further sports sessions on offer to residents in Sanctuary’s communities at Limewood Fields, in Kingsway, at Appleyards Field in Handbridge and at Wealstone Lane in Upton.
The events have been organised by Sanctuary’s youth engagement officer, Libbie Stock, with further support from Cheshire police and Street Worx, who have also organised panna-cage football activities at Durham Road, Blacon as well as in Lache and Upton.
Libbie Stock said: “It’s been fantastic to see a huge number of our younger residents engaging in sports activities, making new friends and learning new skills.
“The sports sessions have helped to enhance the confidence of young people from our communities.”
