HELSBY Community Sports Club is holding an Open and Family Fun Day on Sunday, July 8, from 12 noon.

The purpose is to display the club's facilities, especially the all-weather floodlit tennis courts, and to raise funds for the clubhouse's redevelopment.

The Wimbledon men's final will be shown on the big screen and there will be bouncy castles, face painting, a barbecue, beer tent, side shows and attractions, opportunities to take part in mini coaching sessions for football, rugby, tennis and bowls led by qualified coaches.

There will also be various competitions and a tennis exhibition match with Simon Dickson, former world ranked player and his brother Scott, who reached the number one ranking 18U in Great Britain in 2006.

There will also be the opportunity to meet new tennis coach, Gary Ward who is an ex-Wimbledon Junior and Surrey county player.
