Sport Relief returns to Helsby encouraging the community to run a mile for charity.

The national event is returning to the village for the third time on March 20.

Entry is now open for the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile with people of all ages invited to run, jog or walk to raise money.

Perhaps the Essar Four Villages Half Marathon last Sunday (January 17) gave you some inspiration to get fit.

Organiser George Randles said: “The Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile in Helsby is here and it’s your time to walk or run yourself proud.

“From little ones with their mums and dads, to runners up against the clock, there’s something for everyone to make themselves feel proud on this special day.”

Helsby Running Club has designed the mile’s route, with the start at Helsby Community Sports Club set for 2pm.

Entry fees are £7 for adults, £3 for children and £17 for families (two adults and two children).

There will also be a chance to view the exciting plans for the relocated sports club which include a new running track.

Sport Relief runs nationally from March 18-20, with miles and other events taking place across the country to raise money which goes towards changing lives in the poorest communities in the UK and around the world.
