FIREFIGHTERS were called upon by ambulance staff to cut a casualty from a car wreck.

The crew from Chester fire station attended the scene of the Sealand Road smash at around midday on Saturday, October 16.

The collision involved two Vauxhall Astras and while no-one was trapped, ambulance service personnel required further access to one of the vehicles to remove a female on a spine board as police managed congestion.

Within minutes the door was removed and firefighters helped the North West Ambulance Service remove the female on the spine board. She was then taken to the Countess of Chester hospital for further checks.
