The Hammond School in Chester is delighted to report a very good year for GCSE results.

Some individual students achieved outstanding results including:

Melissa Lowe gained 5 A*, 3 As and 1 B.

Charlotte Tafe achieved 2 A*, 7 As and 1 B.

These students achieved these impressive results in addition to an intensive programme of dance training.

In addition, students who took the OCR Level 2 National First Certificate and National Award in ICT gained distinctions.

Principal Maggie Evans acknowledged the hard work of staff and students required to achieve this success.

She said: “This has been an exciting year in the school’s growth and development culminating in excellent results with several departments achieving 100% A* - C grades.”

Many of the students will be staying with The Hammond to join one of the school's post-16 courses in dance, musical theatre or drama but The Hammond wishes each of its Year 11 students, whatever they are doing next, a happy and successful future career.
