THERE were smiles all round as students from Tarporley Community High School collected their A-level results on Thursday.

The Year 13 pass rate was 98% with 30% of the grades being As and 57% As or Bs.

The average points score per student was 338, the equivalent of an A and two B grades.

Notable performances came from Katie Everton, James Lush and Jonathon Youngs achieving five straight As and Melissa Mather and Oliver Kempski both achieving four As and a B.

Beverley Stubbs, Jessica Woodward, Tom Loughlin, Mark Barrie, Ellie Brooks, Helen Francis, Jenny Hales, Christine Howard, Tessa Morrison, Laura Mulcahy, Chris Ashley and Andrew Ridge achieved As and Bs in their chosen subjects.

Assistant headteacher Liam Martin said: 'It is fantastic to see our students achieving so well. Today has been the culmination of two years of commitment and hardwork from the students ably supported by the dedicated staff at the school and their families.

'We would like to wish them all the best for the future.'
