There are reports of slow moving traffic on the M53 at Ellesmere Port because an entry slip road is partially blocked following an accident during the rushhour.
Travel website Inrix stated about 5.20pm today (Monday, March 21): "M53 northbound lane blocked on entry slip road, slow traffic due to accident at J9 A5032 (Ellesmere Port). Lane one (of two) is blocked."
Elsewhere, there are also reports of one lane being blocked and queueing traffic due to a vehicle fire on the M56 westbound, between J7 A556 (Bowdon) and J9 M6 ( Lymm Interchange), which happened about 5pm. Lane one of three is blocked. The incident is affecting traffic heading away from Manchester towards Chester.
