A shopper from the Westminster Park area of Chester has won a 500 monthly prize draw after completing a customer feedback survey about his local Co-operative food store.

John Sykes, from Lache Lane, Chester, took part in a survey on his local store on Five Ashes Road, and his response was selected at random from all those received to win £500 in Co-operative vouchers.

The Co-operative Food launched the feedback survey to engage with customers and give them the opportunity to shine a spotlight on their local stores and recognise staff who have gone the extra mile.

It also enables them to suggest any potential improvements they would like to see.

The Co-operative store on Five Ashes Road recently relaunched with a new interior and a fresh new range.

John said: “I was surprised, but delighted, to win the £500 vouchers, especially as it only involved taking part in a short survey.

“I visit the store regularly and this initiative is a great way to acknowledge how friendly and helpful the staff are, and the great service they provide.”

Co-operative customers at the store are invited by store colleagues to take part in a short online or telephone survey to give their views on their local store and shopping experience, and their responses are entered in to the prize draw.

Lesley Salvin, The Co-operative Food customer service development manager, added: “Customer feedback is essential to help us improve our service and, more importantly, their overall shopping experience.

“The survey responses we’ve had so far are extremely encouraging and it is clear that customers are passionate about, and extremely proud of, their local stores.

“We really welcome this feedback, which not only helps motivate our colleagues but will help us provide what our customers, and their local community, want from their Co-operative food stores.”
