We'd better make the most of today's glorious sunshine, because according to the experts, we may need our brollies tomorrow.

It might be hard to believe right now but the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for rain for Cheshire West and Chester, meaning there could be heavy thundery showers from noon until 9pm on Tuesday (June 7).

The warning reads: “Heavy, thundery showers will turn locally torrential with the risk of hail on Tuesday afternoon and evening across parts of England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

"Whilst most places will miss the worst, please be aware of the risk of localised flooding.

“Warm, moist air from the continent will be made more unstable by a system coming over it from the Atlantic, bringing the risk of 20mm or more in an hour and 50mm in a few hours.”

The warning for the North West covers Merseyside, Cheshire East, Halton and Cheshire West and Chester.
