Seven people have been arrested after a 'disturbance involving weapons' left two people in hospital.

A 46-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident, which happened in Wordsworth Crescent in Blacon at about 3pm on Monday (July 21) and received treatment at the Countess of Chester Hospital.

Police were called to the area at around 3pm on Monday (July 21) and subsequently arrested two men aged 34 and five men aged 21, 25, 26, 31 and 37, all from the Liverpool area, in relation to the incident.

A 36-year-old woman from Chester was also arrested, and all seven are currently helping police with their enquiries.

Police confirmed there were weapons involved in the incident but would not elaborate on what kind.

Detective Chief Inspector Gwyn Dodd said: "The disturbance was resolved quickly and officers are continuing to provide a presence in the area to reassure residents.

"Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who may have information to contact police."
