Police are appealing for information following a serious assault which left the victim unconscious and with a broken nose.

Details have only just been released about the incident, believed to have occurred between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday, January 3, on Ledsham Road, Little Sutton.

The victim, a 27-year-old local man, was outside the Travellers Rest public house when he was subject to an unprovoked attack, resulting in the victim losing consciousness and suffering a broken nose.

Following the incident the offender is believed to have left the scene heading in the direction of Black Lion Lane. The offender is described as a white man, approximately 40-50-years-old, 5ft 10 in tall, of stocky build with short dark hair.

Investigating officer Laura Walsh, of Ellesmere Port Local Policing Team, said: “We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and as part of the investigation I am keen to speak to anyone that was in the area at the incident occurred.

“I ask anyone who believes that they have any information that could assist our investigation to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 277 of 3/1/2016.”
