Scouts, Cubs and Beavers from 4th Frodsham Scout Group helped declare the new Sainsbury’s Local in Frodsham’s Eddisbury Square open for business last week.

The convenience store, which will be open every day between 7am and 11pm, has created 22 full and part-time jobs for members of the local community.

Store manager Kate Norton said: “I’d like to thank the 4th Frodsham Scout Group for coming along and helping to open the store.

“It was a fantastic day and now that the store’s open, my colleagues and I are looking forward to getting to know customers and local residents and really becoming a part of this great community.”

Colin Chambers, assistant group Scout leader and Mersey Weaver deputy district commissioner, added: “It was really great to be asked to attend the opening and I’d like to thank Sainsbury’s for the opportunity to come along. Everyone from the group had a great time and loved being a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony.

“The store has also generously supplied us with two camp fridges for our camping trips, which we’ll put to good use, and we’re looking forward to working with Kate and her great team again in the future.”
