Staff and pupils at Manley Village Hall have been praised by the Minister of State for Schools for their performance in the 2014 national key stage 2 tests.
One hundred per cent of pupils gained level 4B or above in reading and mathematics and level 4 or above in writing, making the school one of only 149 in the country to achieve that level of attainment.
A letter sent to headteacher Kate Walker from Minister of State for Schools David Laws MP read: “I would like to congratulate your staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and success and thank you for your leadership in continuing the drive towards high standards of educational achievement.”
A proud Mrs Walker said the results were the ‘culmination of hard work and talented teaching’.
Sandy Semple, a parent of two boys at the school, congratulated the school for ‘hitting such a high standard’.
“It’s testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of all the staff, from reception to Year 6, who contribute so much to the lives of our children and give them such a great start in school life,” she said.
