Council community safety wardens say a high visual impact day in the Saughall and Mollington areas of Chester was a big success.

Subjects tackled included dog fouling and speed monitoring on Long Lane and Well Lane.

The camera car was parked outside Saughall All Saints Church of England Primary School during the morning rush hour and no vehicles were found parked on the zig zag lines by the school.

Saughall and Mollington Councillor Brian Crowe said: “Local residents received letters informing them that the speed monitoring device was being deployed on the two roads and the initiative was part of a very successful day.

“Also included was an environmental workshop for children at St Oswald’s Church of England Aided Primary School involving officers from Streetscene and Community Safety.

“The idea of the day was to raise awareness of the community safety wardens and everyone who took part believed that this had been successfully achieved.

“Many thanks to everyone involved.”
