A distraught pet owner is offering a £150 reward for the safe return of her pregnant cat.

Joanna Westwood hasn't seen Lola since she disappeared from her home on Hermitage Road, Saughall on Saturday morning, and is especially concerned because her pet is due to give birth to kittens at the end of July.

Lola, a one-year-old Birman cross British shorthair has a cream coat with chocolate brown mittens, tail, ears and face. She is very vocal and affectionate and usually responds to calling.

Joanna told The Chronicle: " Lola was a house cat up until the end of May. Since then she has been out playing in the garden and has been fine. She was last seen on Saturday morning at 7.15am in my next door neighbour’s garden on Hermitage Road but since then we don't know where she is. She is around 4 weeks pregnant."

"Essentially Lola and her kittens will require attention from a vet and it is hard to believe that she may be being kept by somebody. Another hypothesis is that she is injured."

Joanna added: "I have walked the local area each evening calling her and have done door drops with photographs of her. Saughall is a dense area with lots of houses but I would be so grateful if people could check their sheds and garages and hedges in case she is trapped or injured."

"Lola is a family pet to my two children, Beatrice and Leo. We desperately miss her and need to know if she is OK."

Lola, who is microchipped, was wearing a pink diamante collar with a name tag with Joanna's mobile number on it.

A reward of £150 is offered for her safe return.
