A couple who showed incredible strength following the tragic loss of their daughter have won a national award.

Laura and Paul Evans’ twins Faith and George were born 11 weeks prematurely last August.

The babies were transferred from the Countess of Chester Hospital to the neonatal unit at Liverpool Women’s Hospital, but Faith sadly died aged just seven weeks and five days old on October 3.

Laura and Paul, from Saughall, were presented the Tommy’s Courage Award – which recognises couples or individuals who have faced adversity on their road to parenthood – at a ceremony in London on March 11, after being nominated by their friend Donna McGovern.

Laura and Paul, who are also parents to five-year-old Zack, have remained united as a couple and took part in a ‘superhero walk’ organised by their friends and family to raise money for the hospital which cared for her last year.

Now in their 21st year, the Tommy’s Awards honour families who have been touched by pregnancy complications or the loss of a baby.
