An enchanting Santa’s workshop filled with elves, reindeers and plenty of Christmas cheer will be opening its doors in Chester city centre later this week.

Following the success of last year’s Santa’s Post Office, CH1ChesterBID is this year launching an all-new festive attraction that will be home to a whole host of free Christmas activities for local residents and city visitors to enjoy.

Open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Christmas Eve, Santa’s Workshop officially launches on Friday, November 18.

The workshop will be run by a team of Santa’s elves who will be on hand to help children write their Christmas wish lists and take part in a range of different festive craft and colouring activities.

The hub will also feature a talking Christmas bear and little ones will even have a chance to meet Santa himself when he makes special appearances in the workshop to host special Christmas story times throughout November and December.

Marketing manager at CH1ChesterBID Julie Charlton said: “We’re bringing even more Christmas magic to Chester city centre this year and Santa’s Workshop promises to be an unforgettable experience that will really put people in the festive spirit.

“Through our Chester Kidsmas festival, we’re aiming to capture the childhood magic of Christmas and offer a range of free family-friendly activities right throughout the holiday season. Santa’s Workshop will be a key festive attraction and when you complement all of that with the fantastic range of shops and restaurants in the city centre, Chester really will have something for everyone this Christmas.”

Chester’s Christmas elves ChELFie and ELFie will be spreading Christmas cheer throughout the city centre and dropping into Santa’s Workshop from Saturday, November 19 and every weekend up until Christmas Eve.

CH1ChesterBID has also agreed a charity partnership with Claire House Hospice that will see the introduction of a gift-wrapping station inside Santa’s Workshop this year.

Open every Thursday from 4-8pm starting from December 1, Christmas shoppers are being encouraged to drop off their gifts for wrapping and leave a small donation to the charity in return.

Santa’s Workshop will open from November 18 – December 24 at 50 Northgate Street at the following times: Thursdays 4-8pm; Fridays 10am-1pm; Saturdays 10:30am-4pm; and Sundays 11am-3pm.
