IT IS impossible to think of Christmas without Santa Claus.

And one appropriately named Cheshire police officer is hoping the link will propel her to great things for Hope House Children’s Hospice.

PC Kerry Christmas, based at the Roads Policing Unit in Chester, is all set to don the famous red suit, hat and beard at the annual Hope House Santa Dash fun run in December.

She said: “On December 7, I’ll be putting on the red suit and joining hundreds of other Santas for a sponsored run at Alyn Waters Country Park, Wrexham.

“The course is only a mile long and I’m hoping I’ll be able to convince a few of my colleagues to swap their uniforms for costumes.”

Entry for the event is £12.50, which includes a medal and Santa suit.

Kerry, from Northwich, added: “Although there is a minimum sponsorship limit of £20, I’m hoping to raise £1,000 and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in sponsoring me.”
