A Saltney woman spent her 26th birthday sliding down Lower Bridge Street to raise funds for a charity close to her heart.

Emma Richards booked a slot on the Chester City Slide on Sunday to raise cash for the Countess of Chester Hospital Babygrow Appeal. She has supported the charity throughout her life as she was born prematurely and weighed just 2lbs.

She said: “It was such a fantastic event and a once in a lifetime experience.

“I owe my life to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Countess of Chester hospital. I wouldn’t be here without them. Without the work of charities like the Babygrow Appeal I wouldn’t be here to tell my story.”
