A SALTNEY Ferry super slimmer has made it through to the next stage of a national contest.

Alex Kent, 41, who attends the Mancot Slimming World group, won the district final after sharing her story of how she lost 5st 5lbs in the space of 33 weeks.

The married mum-of-three, who weighed 16st 2lbs at the time she joined the slimming group in January, said: “When I first joined Slimming World I was nervous, excited and unsure what to expect.

“I was soon put at ease, Jo our consultant is friendly and understanding, which is lovely.

“I love staying to group each week and enjoy chatting to other members who are all trying as hard as yourself to lose weight.

“The help and support has really helped keep me going and I love the celebrations and sticker for my book for each half stone award.”

Alex successfully shed the pounds in time to be fit for a family scout camp in June, and now has more time to play with her children Jack, 14, Libby, 10 and Ellie, eight.

Alex will now be appearing in the national semi-finals of the contest, to be held in Derbyshire in October, with the chance to appear in the national finals.
