THERE were plenty of fun and games in Saltney Ferry Scout and Guide group’s fun day.
The event, held on the Bradshaw Avenue playing fields, was opened by Saltney Town Mayor Richard Lloyd, who also kindly volunteered to be the victim in the ‘soak-the-dope’ game.
Other activities included a bungee run, open the box, pillow fight and a penalty shootout.
The cake stall and face-painting stalls also proved popular as £574 was raised toward the group headquarters.
In addition, a donation toward the development of a new headquarters was donated by Saltney Town Council.
Rob Benyon, group scout leader of the group, said: “This was a fantastic event, and thank you to everyone involved. On top of raising vital funds, it has showed the Saltney community what fantastic kids it has!”
The Scout and Guide group now has about 130 children actively involved, the highest since it began in 1930.
