Children from the Woodall Avenue area of Saltney joined friends and family at a nature and wellbeing event organised by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association.

The event, which was arranged in partnership with Keep Wales Tidy, included a community litter-pick to tidy the area up as well as a range of wildlife-based activities.

Community development officer Louise Blackwell said: “It was brilliant to get out and about in the spring sunshine. The children did so well on the litter-pick that many some of the residents living near-by came out to congratulate and thank them.

“The day was aimed at enjoying fresh-air and fun, while learning more about nature and wildlife. There was a bug hunt and the opportunity to create artwork out of natural materials as well as making bird-feeders out of willow.”

Housing officer Bridget Millington added: “A massive thank-you to Judith Wright from Keep Wales Tidy who led the activities, and to children and family members who took part.

“We learned a great deal at the same time as having lots of fun, and it also provided a great opportunity for residents to get to know one another while enjoying a well-deserved cuppa and hot cross bun after all their activities.”
