Marks & Spencer will unveil the final stages of the modernisation of its Chester Foregate Street store to customers on Thursday, April 10, just in time for Easter.

To celebrate, customers will be treated to samples of hot cross buns and tea and Fairtrade coffee, as well as having the chance to win on the spot prizes from the new 250 seat café in an in-store competition.

The modernisation will bring M&S’s fashion, home and food sections all under one roof.

The store will also see the introduction of a new beauty department and M&S bakery, as well as a new café.

Store manager Jonathan Bradburn said: “I am looking forward to welcoming customers to see the makeover of our Chester Foregate Street store.

“The store will be home to a new beauty department, with specially trained beauty assistants and branded beauty products, a new bakery offering freshly baked pastries and speciality breads, as well as a new 250- seat café.

“We are excited to share what we have been working on for the last few months with customers and hope that they will join us for a hot cross bun to mark the completion of work at the store.”

As part of the makeover , the M&S satellite store on the northern side of the street (which housed home and menswear) has closed, with both departments and staff moving to the main store.
