A MAN has been arrested after a warrant was executed in Chester.

The 23 year-old was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis at 11am on Wednesday, February 10.

The warrant was carried out at a house in Harthill Road, Blacon using information supplied by members of the public.

Around 100 plants and 30 bags of what is believed to be cannabis were seized from the house.

The man was later released on police bail pending forensic examination of the substances.

DS Steve Birkett said: “Warrants like this are often carried out thanks to information from members of the public. I would encourage anyone who suspects drug use or supply is going on in their community to contact police.

“Often, a warrant does not just end with police action. We work closely with Chester and District Housing Trust and if one of the trust’s tenants is found to be using their home to supply or store drugs, they could face eviction due to breach of their tenancy agreement.”
