Fresh from a stunt-riding stint on the latest instalment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Ellesmere Port’s very own action woman was recognised at the Women of the Year Awards 2014.

Superbike racer Jenny Tinmouth was amongst 450 women from all walks of life who were selected for their achievements and contributions to attend a special ceremony at the InterContinental London Hotel Park Lane on Monday (October 14).

The 36-year-old trailblazer has accomplished many firsts for women in the male-dominated motorsport, becoming the first female to race in British Superbikes when she made her debut in 2011 and the fastest to lap the world-famous Isle of Man TT course.

She wrote on her Jenny Tinmouth Racing Facebook page, which has more than 29,600 likes: “Completely blown away by the amazing and inspiring women I met today at the Women of the Year Awards Lunch. Feeling immensely honoured and privileged to have been a guest, thank you so much @womenofyear.”

Jenny recently spent five weeks as the stunt double for Mission: Impossible 5’s leading lady Rebecca Ferguson.

Jenny operates her own team as a single rider, TWR Honda, making her the first female owner of a Superbike team in the competition’s history.

She was recently named as one of the 20 all-time motorcycle icons, which was recognised with a spot in the Hall of Fame at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu, Hampshire.

Jenny’s name sits alongside all-time racing greats Barry Sheene, Carl Fogarty, Mike Hailwood and Evel Knievel.

When she’s not racing, she works as a mechanic at the Two Wheel Workshop in Ellesmere Port.

She will compete in the final round of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend (October 17-19).
