MIDDLEWICH Primary School created a trail of silver on Friday.

Pupils had been asked to bring in a 50p piece and arrive at school in team clothes. So hoardes of brownies, guides, cubs, scouts, and football players laid down their money, all in aid of the school funds.

The 20m long trail marked National Parent Teachers Association 'Join In' day.

Acting headteacher Paul Tolley said: 'It was quite a colourful event. We raised around £170 for the school and had a lot of fun too.'
